It a 5 day gorilla trekking and golden monkey watching in volcanoes national park. the trip will start at Kigali International Airport where you will find the tour Guide of Gorilla Expeditions Ltd already waiting for you and the representative from company then after you go to meet the safari vehicle in the airport parking where you will settle the remaining balance with the company representative before the tour guide brief you about how the first day will go, where you will have lunch the time you will have it, and the time you will reach at the lodge for dinner and overnight. the after the agent from the company will wave you good bye and their you will start the trip.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival, you will be welcomed by our tour guide who will transfer you northwards to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri, a home to 360 Mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla view Hotel / Virunga lodge / Le bamboo gorilla lodge / La Palme Hotel / Muhabura Hotel.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking
Gorilla Family in Volcanoes Rwanda
Very early in the morning, you will have a simple breakfast and then transfer to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a short briefing from the ranger guide. With your trekking equipment, bottled drinking water, and packed lunch, you will enter the jungle to search for mountain gorillas. Since these animals are in their natural habitat and free to move, the time you will take while searching for them in the jungle is unpredictable and it can take like 2 – 8 hours depending on their movements. After finding them, you will be given a maximum of one hour in the presence of these animals as you take photos, recording videos and observing them as they feed, play, and doing their other daily activities. After this memorable one hour, you will return the headquarters of the park for your Gorilla trekking certificate and then continue to your lodge for late lunch and relaxation. In the evening, you may go for a nature walk or visit the Banyarwanda community, dinner and overnight stay at your preferred lodge.
Day 3: Tracking Golden Monkeys / Dian Fossey Hike
Golden Monkeys in Volcanoes – Rwanda
After breakfast in the morning, you will transfer to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a short briefing. You will either choose to track golden monkeys or hike up to Karisoke research center which was created by Dian Fossey, who was an American primatologist, zoologist and anthropologist who undertook a study of gorilla groups over a period of 18 years. She dedicated all her life conserving the lives of rare and endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park until she was murdered and is buried next to Digit, a gorilla. At the research center, you will learn more about mountain gorillas and their way of life. On return, you will have lunch at the lodge and relax for some minutes and then transfer and cross the border to Uganda and drive to Bwindi Forest, home to half of the world’s remaining population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 4: Second Gorilla Tracking Adventure
Enjoy another Full Hour with a different gorilla family in Bwindi Forest Uganda
On this day, you will enjoy your breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for a short briefing from a park ranger and then enter the forest for gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking activity can be quite tiresome and strenuous but rewarding, you will need to carry a packed lunch, bottled drinking water, wear comfortable jungle boots suitable for muddy steep slopes and take a raincoat. You will be given a maximum of one hour to spend with the gorillas while observing and photographing them. After this memorable experience, return back to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Chameleon Hill Lodge / Mahogany Springs Camp / Silverback Lodge / Buhoma Community Rest Camp / Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge / Gift of Nature Lodge / Wagtail Eco-Safari Camp / Gorilla Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast the lodge, you will drive back to Kigali and enjoy a city tour in Kigali where you will visit the local market, museum, Gisozi genocide memorial center, and so forth. After the city tour, your tour guide will drive you to the airport for your departure flight.
