Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi National Park
Our staff/driver will pick you in the morning from your hotel in Kampala and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest in South Western Uganda. You may stop at the equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara, have lunch and proceed to Bwindi reaching late in the evening. You may either relax at your lodge or go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the Batwa community. Sleep and dine at Gorilla Forest Camp/ Gorilla mist Camp /Buhoma Homestead.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Adventure.
Take early morning breakfast and prepare for the unforgettable adventure of your life. Ready with your tracking gears plus your parked lunch, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while on the trek.
The time taken searching for these humble Giant apes is unpredictable; however, it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. Tracking goes through steep climbing up and down however, the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge as at day 1.
Day 3: Enjoy a Second Gorilla Trek in Bwindi Forest
On this day, you will start with a morning breakfast at the lodge and follow the same procedure like on the first gorilla trek on day two, but on this day you will track a different gorilla group, totally different from what you tracked on the day two. On return from the second gorilla trekking experience, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the world’s freshwater lakes, free from Bilharzia. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp / Acadia Cottages.
Day 4: Reserved for Departure
On this day, you will wake you early enough for breakfast at the lodge and then transfer back to Kampala where the tour ends. It is an 8 -10hrs drive, alternatively, you can cross the border to Rwanda, fly out through Kigali International Airport. This takes about 4 – 5hrs drive depending to which lodge you stayed.
