5 Days Chimps and Wildlife Tour, Uganda Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Depart for Kibale National Park
After breakfast at the your hotel in Kampala, you will meet a tour guide from Gorilla Expeditions Ltd who will drive you to Kibale Forest National Park which one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in the country, with over 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee and over 375 species of birds. You will have en-route stop at the Equator for experiments, photograph shoots. Have lunch and continue to Kibale Forest and on your arrival, you may visit Crater Lakes Region. Dinner and overnight will be at Ndali Lodge / Primates Lodge Kibale.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Kibale Forest
After early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Kanyanchu tourist center for a briefing from the park ranger before you continue for chimpanzees tracking in the forest. Chimpanzees are the man’s closest relatives and therefore watching them in their natural environment is an amazing experience. Chimpanzee tracking may take 2 – 6 hours depending on their movement in search for food and shelter. After finding them you will be given a maximum of one hour in their presence for observation and taking photos. Other primates you will find the forest include; red-tailed monkeys, Mangabeys, grey-cheeked monkeys and also listen to the sounds of the birds in the forest. You will then return for lunch at lodge and relaxation and you wait to visit the Bigodi wetland which is well known for various bird species. You will have your dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the moon hotel / Chimps Nest Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning you will have breakfast at the lodge and transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through the historical Kasese town which offers a clear view of the mountains of the Moon or the Rwenzori Mountain. As you enter the park, you will enjoy an en-route game drive. Thereafter continue with your journey to Mweya for nature walk around the Maramagambo forest for primate and bird watching and visits to the bat cave and the blue lake. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge / Simba Safari Camp / Ihamba Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will wake up early in the morning for a cup of tea or coffee and for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks looking for animals like: lions, cape buffalos, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, mongoose, kobs and, if you are fortunate, the leopards are often spotted.
Return for a full breakfast, unwind and get ready for yet another amazing activity in the afternoon. After lunch, you will enjoy a memorable two hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will get an opportunity to see and photograph different water-loving animals and birds. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge as on day one.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala
After your breakfast, enjoy morning game drive before you transfer to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara town reaching Kampala for last minute shopping and transfer to the Airport for your departure flight.
